‘He Promised to Marry Me’-12-Year Relationship Ends in Tears After Boyfriend Allegedly Disappears With Loan Money
A woman has shared a heartbreaking story of how her 12-year relationship allegedly ended in betrayal after she took a GH¢5,000 loan for her boyfriend, who promised to use the money to marry her but later disappeared.
Speaking on Auntie Naa’s Oyerepa Afutuo show, the woman said she had been in a relationship with a man identified as Joe for about 12 years.
According to her, Joe convinced her to take a loan on his behalf, assuring her that he would use the money to prepare for their marriage.
“I was in a relationship with a man named Joe for about 12 years. He made me take a GH¢5,000 loan for him, promising he would use the money to marry me. However, after I gave him the money, he took it and disappeared,” she said.
The woman explained that she secured the loan from Quick Credit because she trusted his promise.
She said that about two weeks later, their rent became due, and Joe contributed towards the payment.
However, after taking the loan money, he allegedly stopped discussing plans for marriage.
Concerned by the sudden silence, she confronted him about the promise he had made.
According to her, Joe then told her that because he had helped pay the rent, he was no longer interested in marrying her.
She said the situation became even worse when she returned home from the market one Sunday and discovered that he had moved out of their home.
According to her, he left with the loan money and ended the relationship without any explanation.
The woman revealed that they have two children together and that Joe stopped supporting them after leaving.
As a result, she said she was forced to work as a trotro mate to take care of the children and provide for their needs.
She added that the situation became even more painful when she returned from work one day and discovered that the children were gone.
According to her, Joe had allegedly taken the children without informing her.
She claimed that all attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful.
“He has absconded with the children, and whenever I call him, he does not tell me where they are. When I ask him to hand the phone over to the children so I can speak with them, he refuses and instead insults me,” she added.
The woman is now appealing for help as she continues searching for answers about the whereabouts of her children.
