GOP Rep. Carlos Giménez Compares Trump To Famously Gullible Children’s Cartoon — And He Has A Point

Rep. Carlos Giménez (R-Fla.) compared U.S. negotiations with Iran to “Peanuts” character Charlie Brown getting duped by Lucy’s famous football ruse on Tuesday, telling Fox Business he wouldn’t bet on a deal happening anytime soon.

“Look, I’m starting to feel like we’re Charlie Brown and Iran is Lucy, and every time we go to kick the ball, it’s taken away,” the Florida congressman said, referring to the “Peanuts” character’s futile quest to boot a football, endlessly sabotaged by his pint-sized pal.

“If I were in Vegas right now, I’d be betting that in two days we’ll be right where we are today,” Gimenez said, adding that he believed Iran “deserves punishment” for retaliating at Israel over its strikes on ally Lebanon.
