Go And Report Yourself — Area Boys Catch Thief Stealing Transformer, Escort Him To Police Station To Report Himself And Write Statement 

A suspected thief was escorted to the Gbawe Police Station by Nii Oshipi after allegedly being caught stealing components from an electricity transformer in the area.

Video circulating from the scene shows Nii Oshipi walking the suspect toward the police station, telling him, “Go to the police station, report yourself and write your statement.”

Transformer vandalism and theft remain a persistent problem across Ghana, with stolen components, including copper windings and other valuable parts, often targeted for resale, at significant cost to communities left with damaged or non-functional electricity infrastructure as a result.

The identity of the suspect, the specific transformer involved, and the outcome of the case at the police station have not been independently verified. It is unclear whether the Electricity Company of Ghana has been notified or assessed any resulting damage to the transformer.
