Full List: Identity Of 36 Students Kidnapped In Borno School Attack Revealed

No fewer than 36 students have been confirmed abducted following the invasion of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa, in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, by suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province fighters.

Naija News learnt that the insurgents stormed the school at about 8.30 a.m. on Monday, abducting students and teachers.

A teacher was said to have been shot dead after refusing to follow the attackers, while another person sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to Daily Trust, a verified register obtained after the attack showed that 36 students were taken away by the insurgents.

A breakdown of the list indicated that 11 of the abducted students are males, while 25 are females.

According to the class distribution, one of the victims is in SS3, 17 are in SS2, while 18 are in SS1.

The Councillor representing Lassa Ward, Hon. Jagila Jabula, confirmed the authenticity of the list, saying it was compiled by the school authorities with the support of parents of the missing students.

Lassa village is located about 20 kilometres from Mussa community, where 42 pupils of Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School were abducted on May 15.

The latest incident has heightened concerns over renewed attacks on schools in parts of Borno State, particularly in communities exposed to insurgent activities.
