From Viral Hype Videos to One Million Followers: The Rise of TikTok Creator Ivana

When Etieno Ime Martin uploaded her first hype video on TikTok in 2024, she was simply doing what she enjoyed most—entertaining people. Within months, the videos began reaching wider audiences, turning the Akwa Ibom-born creator, better known as Ivana or Ivana Wahala, into one of the platform’s fastest-growing Nigerian personalities.

Ivana said her interest in content creation came from her desire to make people laugh and create enjoyable moments for her audience.

“My career started from my love for entertaining people and putting smiles on their faces. I enjoy creating an atmosphere where everyone feels alive, happy and involved,” she said.

Her first uploads focused on hype performances, a style that quickly attracted attention on TikTok. As her audience grew, she expanded her content to include music freestyles, song covers and comedy, giving followers a wider range of videos.

By the second half of 2024, some of her freestyle videos had gained traction across TikTok and other social media platforms. During that period, many followers began referring to her as Ivana Wahala, a name that has since become closely associated with her online identity.

Her follower count continued to rise as more users engaged with her content. After reaching 500,000 followers in March 2025, her account later surpassed one million followers, making her one of the Nigerian creators to record significant audience growth on the platform within a relatively short period.

Born on 11 July 2004, Ivana is from Akwa Ibom State. She said she was raised by her parents alongside her siblings and described her childhood as a happy one.

“I grew up with my parents. I had a sweet childhood life and I was well taken care of by my parents and siblings,” she said.

While her online presence has continued to expand, details about her earnings have not been made public. Like many content creators, she earns attention through regular uploads and audience engagement, although no verified information about her income has been disclosed.

Today, Ivana’s page features a mix of hype performances, music freestyles, song covers and comedy videos. Her consistency and growing online presence have helped establish her as one of the young Nigerian creators who found an audience through TikTok after joining the platform in 2024.
