Falana and Falz Lead Lagos Protest Over Insecurity on Democracy Day

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN), his son Falz, and other Lagos residents took to the streets on Democracy Day to protest rising insecurity and economic hardship across the country.

The demonstration was part of coordinated protests held in Lagos and other cities, where participants demanded urgent government action to address kidnappings, killings, unemployment, inflation, and other challenges facing Nigerians.

Placards displayed by protesters highlighted insecurity in several parts of the country, while participants called for safer communities and better protection for citizens.

Falz, who has been vocal about insecurity concerns, questioned the continued operation of schools amid repeated reports of student abductions and attacks.

The protest was reportedly organized by civil society groups, labour unions, youth organizations, and members of the #EndBadGovernance movement.

Despite differing opinions online, the protest remained focused on calls for improved security, safer schools, economic relief, and stronger government action to address the concerns raised by citizens.
