Mr Eyitayo Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2016 and 2020 elections in Ondo State, has resigned from the party.
Jegede, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in a letter addressed to the party’s chairman in Owode/Imuagun Ward 11, Akure South Local Government Area of the state, said the resignation was with immediate effect.
The letter dated Aug. 7, was obtained on Thursday in Akure.
“Kindly take this as a formal notice of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, effective immediately.
“I will be glad if you will kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter,” Jegede said in the letter (NAN)
