“Every time you’ll be asking for urgent N2k. Start a small-scale business like selling akara and roasted corn — Eucharia Anunobi appears to take a swipe at First Lady
Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has stirred reactions on social media after encouraging Nigerians to embrace small-scale businesses instead of constantly seeking financial assistance.
The actress made the remarks in a video shared on her social media page, where she advised people to become more productive by starting modest businesses such as selling akara (bean cakes) or roasted corn.
In the video, Anunobi urged those who frequently ask others for urgent financial help to channel the same energy into building sustainable sources of income.
“Every time you’ll be asking for urgent ₦2,000. Start a small-scale business like selling akara and roasted corn,” she said.
She further encouraged Nigerians to stop procrastinating and take practical steps toward financial independence, stressing that many successful entrepreneurs began with small ventures.
According to the actress, consistency, hard work and determination are key ingredients for long-term financial success.
Concluding her message, Anunobi urged people to stop “snoozing” and begin a business, adding that taking such steps could eventually lead to wealth creation.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users interpreting the video as an apparent swipe at Nigeria’s First Lady. However, Anunobi did not mention or identify any public official by name in the video.
