Dunamis Owns Aircraft That Landed On Delta Road – Source

The private aircraft that landed on a road in the Ogwashi-Uku area near Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday is reportedly owned by Dunamis International Gospel Centre.

Sources familiar with the matter who spoke with The Cable said the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had established that the aircraft was registered in the United States in the name of Dunamis, whose senior pastor is Paul Enenche.

The aircraft was said to have been brought into Nigeria to operate on a non-commercial flight permit.

Under aviation rules, aircraft operating under a non-commercial flight permit are not expected to be used for private charter operations.

However, sources said that the condition was believed to have been violated.

Until 2025, the aircraft reportedly operated under the name Mounthill Ltd before its operatorship was switched to UMO Ltd to obtain the non-commercial flight permit.

UMO Ltd is reportedly owned by Mike Olaoye, a member of the church. The permit has now been suspended following the incident.

The pilot, identified as Chris Baca, a Pakistani, was also reportedly arrested for allegedly breaching Nigeria’s aviation age limit.

He was said to be 70 years old, five years above the age limit for pilots operating in Nigeria.

In a statement on Wednesday, the NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, said preliminary reports indicated that the aircraft made a missed approach while attempting to land at Asaba airport around 7:43 a.m.

Achimugu said, “Reports received from personnel at the scene indicate that all occupants safely exited the aircraft and were transported to Asaba by road.

“The aircraft had four (4) crew members on board. At this time, no injuries to passengers or crew have been reported.”

He added that air traffic control was informed only after the aircraft had become airborne.

The NCAA immediately grounded the aircraft upon its arrival in Lagos pending the outcome of investigations.
