Dubai’s Burj Khalifa was built by these two billionaires, their net worth will leave you shocked, it is Rs…

Burj Khalifa has become the global symbol of Dubai. The moment people hear the name Dubai, they often picture the world’s tallest skyscraper rising above the clouds in the middle of the UAE desert. More than just a building, it represents ambition, luxury and modern engineering.

Vision behind Burj Khalifa

The idea and development of Burj Khalifa were strongly driven by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE.
He wanted to transform Dubai from an oil-dependent economy into a global tourism and business hub. Real estate giant Emaar Properties developed the tower, but Sheikh Mohammed’s vision played the key role in bringing the project to life.

Why was it originally called Burj Dubai?

The tower was originally named Burj Dubai. However, during the 2008-09 global financial crisis, Dubai faced major economic difficulties. At that time, Abu Dhabi’s ruler and then UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan provided billions of dollars in financial support through the federal government. In recognition of his help, the tower was renamed Burj Khalifa at the time of its inauguration.

Incredible size and construction facts

Burj Khalifa stands 828 metres tall with 163 floors, making it the tallest building in the world. It officially opened in 2010. The project reportedly cost around 1.5 billion US dollars to build and more than 12,000 workers were involved in its construction. The tower includes luxury hotels, residential apartments and office spaces.

Sheikh Mohammed’s global projects

Reports estimate Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s personal net worth to be between 4 and 18 billion dollars. Beyond Burj Khalifa, he also led major projects that reshaped Dubai’s global image, including Palm Islands and Burj Al Arab. His long-term goal was to make Dubai one of the world’s top tourist and business destinations.

Modern wonder and tourist landmark

Today, Burj Khalifa is one of the world’s biggest tourist attractions and a symbol of Dubai’s transformation. Visitors from across the globe come to enjoy panoramic city views from the tower. Its design also showcases advanced engineering, including a special structure created to reduce wind resistance and maintain stability at extreme heights.
