Donald Trump Threatens Troop Withdrawal from Italy and Spain

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Trump said: “Probably… look, why shouldn’t I? Italy has not been of any help to us and Spain has been horrible, absolutely horrible.”The threats follow growing tensions between the US and some of its European partners over the ongoing conflict with Iran.Spain has been one of the most vocal critics in Europe of the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has consistently opposed the war, stating that Spain supports cooperation with allies “but always within the framework of international law.” Spain has also refused to allow the US to use its jointly operated military bases for strikes on Iran.
