Diddy’s prison release date moved up for fourth time

Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to regain his freedom earlier than previously expected after his prison release date was moved forward once again.

The disgraced music mogul’s new release date from the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey is now February 5, 2028, according to records from the United States Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The latest adjustment marks another change in the shifting timeline of Diddy’s release, which has been moved several times since he began serving his sentence.

His release date was previously set for February 20, 2028, after being revised following reports of an altercation inside the prison. The date had also moved earlier from previous projections, creating uncertainty around when the rapper and Bad Boy Entertainment founder would leave custody.

Diddy began serving a four-year, two-month prison sentence in October 2025 after being convicted on two counts related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution purposes.

However, he was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking during his federal trial.

The 56-year-old was sentenced after prosecutors presented allegations surrounding his conduct and relationships, including testimony from former partner Cassie Ventura, who accused him of years of abuse. Diddy has denied several allegations made against him.

His sentence has been affected by various factors, including credits under the First Step Act, a federal prison reform law that allows eligible inmates to reduce their time behind bars.

The latest change comes after a turbulent period during his time at Fort Dix, where reports emerged of a prison altercation that allegedly resulted in him being placed in solitary confinement. Authorities, however, have not publicly confirmed details of the incident.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has repeatedly declined to comment on individual inmates’ release plans, citing privacy and security concerns.

Following his release, Diddy will also serve five years of supervised release as ordered by the court.
