Dickson Meets Kwankwaso in Abuja, Confirms INEC Upload of NDC Vice Presidential Candidacy

The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, on Tuesday held a strategic meeting with the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Abuja, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The high-level meeting, which took place at Kwankwaso’s residence in the Federal Capital Territory, focused on the party’s political consultations, grassroots mobilization efforts and progress in completing its electoral processes ahead of the next presidential contest.

Following the meeting, both Dickson and Kwankwaso confirmed that the former Kano State governor’s nomination as the NDC’s vice-presidential candidate had been successfully processed and uploaded to the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), clearing an important administrative milestone for the party.

In a statement shared on his official X account, Kwankwaso expressed appreciation for Dickson’s visit and disclosed that he briefed the party leader on his recent political consultations across the North-West geopolitical zone.

According to him, the engagements with stakeholders and supporters across the region had produced encouraging outcomes that strengthened the party’s position ahead of the 2027 elections.

Kwankwaso also revealed that Dickson officially confirmed the successful submission of his nomination documents and informed him that his name had been uploaded to the INEC portal as the vice-presidential running mate to Peter Obi on the platform of the NDC.

He emphasized that the party’s leadership remains united and focused on achieving its political objectives, expressing confidence that ongoing consultations would further strengthen the NDC’s chances in the forthcoming elections.

Dickson also took to his official X account to confirm the meeting, describing it as productive and revealing that discussions centered on the outcome of Kwankwaso’s political engagements in the North-West.

According to the former Bayelsa State governor, the consultations had yielded positive developments that would benefit the party’s nationwide campaign efforts.

He further stated that Kwankwaso informed him that he had concluded the required documentation relating to his nomination, while both leaders confirmed that his details had been successfully uploaded to the INEC portal as the NDC’s vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

Reaffirming the party’s resolve, Dickson said the NDC leadership remains steadfast in pursuing its political agenda and committed to presenting a united front ahead of the polls.

The meeting comes as political parties continue to strengthen internal structures, build alliances and intensify consultations across the country in preparation for what is expected to be a fiercely contested 2027 general election.
