Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Davido has revealed that his monthly personal expenses while in Nigeria can range between $200,000 and $300,000, excluding major costs such as his wife’s expenses, household upkeep, luxury cars, and jewellery.

The Afrobeats star made this disclosure during a live conversation on Davrel Twitch on Tuesday, where he compared his spending patterns in Nigeria to those in the United States.

According to Davido, he spends considerably less while in America, given that his household there is limited to himself, his wife, and their children.

“I actually spend less in Yankee because I live with just me, my wife and my kids,” he said. “When I’m around, I spend a lot more. We are balling every day.”

When asked to estimate his monthly expenditure while in Nigeria, Davido said it typically falls within the $200,000 to $300,000 range, clarifying that this figure covers only his personal spending.

“I can’t tell you how much, but I can tell you like 300. Normally, probably like 200 to 300.

This is minus my wife and the house that one is closed. Minus buying jewellery or buying car,” he said.

The singer also recently announced plans to establish a mental health therapy centre for former celebrities who have struggled to cope after losing fame and success.

Speaking on the initiative, Davido said, “If there is one thing I could do, I would build a centre for people that have been popular and very successful before.”
