Dan RicHeE Releases ‘WAVE’ Ahead of PAGES II

Nigerian recording artist and founder of New Skool Ogene (NSO), Dan RicHeE, has released his latest single, WAVE, ahead of his forthcoming seven-track project, PAGES II.

Released on August 26, WAVE continues RicHeE’s development of New Skool Ogene through a blend of indigenous instrumentation and contemporary musical expression.

The record opens with the traditional Igbo Oja and incorporates the Ogene bell, saxophone, female vocal textures and modern rhythmic elements.

Rather than positioning the record within Afrobeats, RicHeE describes WAVE as part of the continuing development of New Skool Ogene as a cultural sound system with its own identity and room for different musical expressions.

The release follows the PAGES EP and WEH YE, which have formed earlier stages in RicHeE’s introduction of the NSO system.

WAVE was written and arranged by Chima Chimezie Richard, produced by Sparkzyminded and mastered by Destro, with Oja performed by Chris and female vocals by Elixi. The record was recorded at NSO System Studio.

An official video for the single, directed by TG Carft and co-directed by Surcy Vick, has also been completed.

Dan RicHeE is now preparing for the release of PAGES II on September 23, 2026.

The seven-track project represents the next expansion of New Skool Ogene, opening the system further through collaboration and different musical expressions while maintaining the cultural identity at its foundation.

For Dan RicHeE, the progression from PAGES to WEH YE, WAVE and now PAGES II is part of a longer process of building New Skool Ogene beyond individual releases and establishing a framework that can eventually accommodate other artists and creators.
