Culture Minister Musawa visits family of late Ogogo in Lagos

Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy on Sunday paid condolence visit to the family of late Yoruba Nollywwod actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo in Lagos on Sunday.

The Minister announced this in a short post accompanied by photographs of the visit of her social media platforms.

As seen in the photographs, Musawa was received during the visit by family of the late actor.

Jide Kosoko, one of the colleagues of late Ogogo was also present during the visit.

Commenting on the visit, Musawa described the death of Ogogo as a great loss to the Nigerian creative community.

She, however, noted that the deceased actor’s contribution to Nollywood and his dedication to the Nigerian arts will remain an important part of our creative heritage.

Musawa added that she also convened the condolences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, her ministry and Nigerians to the family of late Ogogo.

Musawa, in the social media post said, “I paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family of the late Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, a renowned and respected figure in Nigeria’s film industry.

“During the visit, I conveyed the deep condolences and heartfelt greetings of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to the family on behalf of the Federal Government and the Nigerian people.

“The passing of Ogogo is a great loss to his family, colleagues, fans and the wider Nigerian creative community. His remarkable contribution to Nollywood and his dedication to the Nigerian arts will remain an important part of our creative heritage.

“On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May God grant the family the strength to bear this painful loss and grant his soul eternal rest.

“We mourn with the family, we honour his legacy, and we pray for comfort in this difficult time.
