Behind the scenes, however, sources say concern was mounting. According to those close to the family, Presley’s appearance and behavior reportedly changed significantly in the months before his death. 

Friends and relatives allegedly noticed a young man who seemed increasingly disconnected from the hopeful image he had projected online. As concerns mounted, Crawford and Rande reportedly became convinced that immediate action was necessary. 

“Both his parents made him go to rehab because they knew he was using,” the source revealed, adding, “They were not going to give up on him, so they tried another rehab center, they had so much hope.”

Rather than stepping back after years of setbacks, the couple reportedly doubled down on their efforts, continuing to research programs and pursue new options.

“They are helicopter parents, they are super involved, they did not drop the ball here,” the insider continued. According to them, Crawford and Rande “pushed and pushed” for improvement because they believed their son could still be saved.

According to one insider, “Their worst fear was that he would get a bad cocktail of drugs and die.”

Conversations about fentanyl became increasingly common as overdose deaths continued to rise nationwide.

Those concerns were rooted in years of watching Presley struggle with anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Sources claim he spent much of his adult life searching for something that could quiet the emotional pain he carried.

“He was very open about trying every medication out there to help him. Nothing worked,” the source said. They noted that Presley often sought relief through self-medication because being high made him feel “normal.”
