Bwala Exposes Peter Obi’s Latest Strategy Involving Obidient Movement

The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Daniel Bwala, has accused the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, of repeatedly making claims about threats to his life as part of a political strategy involving the Obidient Movement.

Naijapunchnews reports that Bwala made the allegation in a post on X while reacting to remarks Obi made in Berlin, Germany, where the former Anambra State governor alleged that there had been an attempt on his life during a planned visit to Benue State in April 2025.

Reacting to the claim, Bwala dismissed the allegation, arguing that it followed what he described as a recurring pattern of similar accusations by the opposition politician.

“The desperation of Peter Obi @PeterObi is palpable. He recently travelled to Europe and was quoted to have alleged that Governor of Benue wanted to kill him. Imagine lies from someone who said he wants to govern a country like Nigeria,” Bwala wrote.

The presidential aide also referred to the controversy surrounding Obi’s previous claims of intimidation at Nigerian airports, insisting that the former governor had wrongly accused airport authorities after allegedly violating airport traffic regulations.

“The other day he falsely accused airport officials of threatening his life when in fact he violated airport traffic rules,” Bwala stated.

Bwala further alleged that Obi’s recent statements about threats to his life were aimed at mobilising members of the Obidient Movement against perceived political opponents.

“Lately his new found allegation on life may appear to be his strategy to use his Obidient movement to threaten people’s life like they have been doing on us,” he added.

The comments are the latest exchange in the ongoing war of words between members of the Tinubu administration and the former Anambra State governor, who has remained one of the leading opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general election.

Obi had earlier claimed that there was an attempt on his life during a planned visit to Benue State and has previously alleged that he faced intimidation during an incident at a Nigerian airport.
