BREAKING: South-South Governors Forum Backs APC First-Term Governors Ahead Of Primaries

The South-South Governors Forum (SSGF) has expressed solidarity with first-term governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) participating in the party’s governorship primaries scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the forum and Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, the forum praised the governors for what it described as visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to the development of their respective states.

The SSGF noted that the governors had distinguished themselves as champions of grassroots development and economic growth, adding that their administrations had delivered visible improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education and social welfare.

According to the forum, the achievements recorded by the governors during their first term have laid a solid foundation for greater economic and infrastructural prosperity in their states and across the country.

The statement further expressed confidence that the APC primaries would be peaceful and successful, while affirming that democratic ideals would prevail in the exercise.

The forum also stated that the governors’ performance and exceptional service deserved recognition and support from party faithful during the primaries.
