BREAKING: Somebody Spent 100M to Score 16,502 Votes, & In 21 States He Got 0, In His Native Edo, He Got 1 – Ojo
Political analyst Jide Ojo has reacted to the performance of APC presidential aspirant Stanley Osifo during the party’s presidential primary election won by Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, Ojo said the primary election appeared more like a coronation than a competitive contest. According to him, Osifo was not given the opportunity to deliver a concession speech after the result was announced, despite participating in the race and receiving media attention during the event.
Ojo stated that Osifo reportedly spent about 100 million naira on the campaign but ended up with only 16,502 votes nationwide. He added that the aspirant failed to secure any vote in 21 states and received only one vote in his home state of Edo.
The analyst, however, said Osifo had the right to spend his money on his political ambition if he chose to do so. He also addressed rumours that the aspirant may have been sponsored by another group, saying there was no evidence to support such claims.
Despite the poor result, Ojo noted that Osifo’s participation had placed his name in national political discussions ahead of the 2027 election, especially as one of the younger politicians who challenged the President during the APC primary.
In his words, “Somebody spent 100 million to score 16,502 votes, and in 21 states the got zero, in his native Edo, he got only one vote.”
