BREAKING: “Seyi Makinde’s Presidential Ambition Sparks Reaction as George Says, ‘We Didn’t Send Him’”

As the internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) persists, former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George, has reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP, declaring that he has no intention of leaving the party despite its ongoing challenges, as reported by THISDAY.

According to him, the PDP remains the foundation of Nigeria’s democracy, and he maintained that many of the political developments currently unfolding in the country would not have occurred if the party had remained in power.

George made the remarks while addressing journalists at his residence in Ikoyi and issuing an open letter to the Chairman of the National Judicial Council. In the statement, titled The Imperative of Preserving the Sanctity, Independence and Integrity of the Nigerian Judiciary, he urged the judiciary to courageously discharge its constitutional responsibilities in the pending court case relating to the lingering PDP leadership crisis.

Reacting to claims by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, that his faction had taken control of the PDP structure in Lagos State, George dismissed the assertion, describing it as unrealistic.

He argued that Wike was mistaken to believe he had taken over the party in the state, adding that the minister was much younger during the period of the Atiku Abubakar crisis, when the G-5 governors, also known as the Integrity Group, emerged.

“I am a trained general, I do not go to war like a cheap man, you sit down with your tactical team.

“You see what they are doing to Oyo, you do not play a game like that. I never knew he (Seyi Makinde) was going to declare for presidential ambition and linked up with APM.

“It is like a tree, once you detach yourself, you are gone, you do not go on your own.Achieve Your Desires. (In Your Undertakings) Business world. Career. Private or government work. Selection/approval. Elevation/ promotion. Leadership position. Power of command. Leadership tussle. People/crowd. Favor in high places. Breakthrough. Etc. Quick results without blemish. “He’s my son but he never told me about his ambition. At the national level, we did not say go and do it.”

George urged party members to remain steadfast and faithful to God, saying that every stage of life is divinely ordained. He warned that anything built on a faulty foundation would eventually collapse, adding that no Nigerian could accurately predict the future. According to him, one of the greatest lessons he had learnt was that the greatest threat often came from within.

He further said he would not stand by and watch the PDP be destroyed, stressing that the Board of Trustees remained the conscience of the party and had a responsibility to protect it. George added that the party must not be allowed to die and vowed that he would continue to speak truth to those in authority for as long as he lived.See more
