Social media users have taken to their official X account to react after it was announced that the governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara has withdrawn from the All Progressive Congress, APC primary election in the state.

Channels TV made the announcement on its official X account on May 20, 2026.

This came after the All Progressive Congress, APC announced that governorship primary election will be held in Rivers.

According to report, the Rivers state governor withdrew from the primary election after he was screened and cleared by a committee set up by the leadership of APC to scrutinize aspirants who are vying for the position of the governor.

According to Channels TV on its official X account;
