BREAKING: INEC Chairman Shouldnt Allow Himself To Be Used If Not Nigerians Wont Take It Easy With Him—Ayodele
According to a report by Daily Post, on Sunday June 21, 2026, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the Osun governorship election.
He directed his message to the INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, urging him to avoid being influenced by political actors during the electoral process, the cleric cautioned that the INEC boss must not allow himself to be used by any political party, warning that doing so could lead to serious consequences after the election.
According to him, any attempt to compromise or manipulate the election outcome would put those involved in a difficult position, he stressed that the electoral body, Independent National Electoral Commission, must ensure transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to electoral guidelines.
Ayodele warned that if the process is not properly managed, the INEC Chairman could be made a scapegoat by the public, political stakeholders, and even higher accountability forces after the election, he added that those who push for electoral manipulation may not stand by officials when issues arise, leaving them exposed to criticism and consequences.
The cleric further advised the Chairman to remain firm and avoid any action that could damage the credibility of the commission or the election itself, stated that that public trust in elections depends heavily on the neutrality and integrity of INEC officials.
“He shouldn’t allow himself to be used by politicians in the state; if not, God will be angry with him, and the people of Nigeria will not take it easy with him,” he said.
