BREAKING: I Still Believe Whoever Emerges As ADC Presidential Candidate Today Will Still Talk To The NDC – Okai

Usman Austin Okai, a former candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, has stated that whoever emerges as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate must engage in strategic dialogue with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a post on his Facebook page on Monday, May 25, 2026, Okai asserted that removing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would require a coordinated effort from opposition forces rather than fragmented campaigns.

He wrote, “I still believe whoever emerges as the ADC presidential candidate today will still talk to the NDC. Tinubu has got to go. Joint efforts are required.”

The African Democratic Congress is currently conducting its presidential primary election, a pivotal exercise aimed at resolving internal leadership disputes and presenting a unified front ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The race has attracted significant attention, featuring prominent contestants such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former bank executive Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

The aspirants have undergone a rigorous vetting process overseen by a committee chaired by Liyel Imoke, a former Governor of Cross River State.

The outcome of the election is expected to determine the party’s direction as it prepares for the complex path toward the 2027 general elections.

Calls for opposition unity have continued to gain momentum as the NDC consolidates its influence.

The party has recently experienced a surge in national prominence, driven largely by the defection of political figures such as Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
