BREAKING: “I PAVED THE WAY, NOW THEY’VE ABANDONED ME!” — SkyB Calls Out Burna Boy, Timaya & Others in Explosive Port Harcourt Industry Betrayal Drama.
Veteran Nigerian singer SkyB has stirred massive controversy online after accusing some of the biggest names in the Port Harcourt music scene of abandoning him despite what he describes as his foundational role in their early rise.
Speaking on the KAA Truth Podcast, SkyB claimed that he played a key role in promoting and supporting early talents from Port Harcourt, including artistes like Mr. 2Kay and Timaya, during the early stages of their careers when the industry was still developing.
According to him, he made personal sacrifices and invested resources to help grow the Port Harcourt music scene, but now feels forgotten and sidelined by the very artistes he once supported.
The singer also expressed deep disappointment toward global star Burna Boy, alleging that despite not directly helping him in the past, he expected the Grammy-winning artist to extend support—either through collaboration or financial assistance—to help revive his career.
SkyB further recounted a past experience where, according to him, an opportunity for him to perform alongside another artiste was allegedly rejected, with claims that the act refused to share the stage with him, a decision he interpreted as disrespect and betrayal.
He went on to say that his frustrations are rooted in what he believes is a lack of appreciation for those who contributed to the growth of Port Harcourt’s music industry in its early days.
