BREAKING: I Have Been Very Close To People In APC And Close To People In PDP, Yet I Never Left LP -Abure

Julius Abure, the embattled factional National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has stated that he has never left the party despite maintaining relationships with members of other political parties.

Speaking in an interview with SYMFONI TV on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Abure said his interactions with politicians in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) do not constitute disloyalty.

He explained that he has remained committed to the Labour Party throughout his political career while sustaining cordial relations across party lines. Abure dismissed allegations that he is working to destabilize the party, describing the claims as unfounded.

He noted that the Labour Party has grown stronger and more competitive under his leadership, while rejecting suggestions of internal sabotage.

“It will shock you to know that over the years I have been very close to people in APC, close to people in PDP, and I never left Labour Party for those parties. Is it now that the party is large and is capable of winning elections under my leadership that I will now destabilize it? I mean, common sense.”
