In a recent interview shared by the official YouTube channel of News Central on May 21, 2026, Public Affairs Analyst Dotun Ojon provided a forward-looking perspective on Nigeria’s political landscape beyond the next general elections.

Commenting on the shifting nature of political alliances, Ojon stated that the focus of political actors is often short-lived and driven by evolving ambitions. According to him, “After 2027, the interest will no longer be about Tinubu but about who becomes what in 2031.” He explained that while current alignments may revolve around the influence and leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, such loyalties are expected to change once the immediate electoral cycle concludes.
