BREAKING: Adeleke Declares Strong Personal & Ancestral Bond With Tinubu

According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, May 25, 2026, the Governor of Ademola Adeleke has restated his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027, saying his decision is influenced by developmental progress, political realities, and the strategic relationship between Osun State and the federal government.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke explained that his position in support of President Bola Tinubu is not merely a political gesture but a reflection of ongoing federal-backed projects and their impact on infrastructure and economic activities in Osun State.

The governor made the comments following his inspection of the ongoing reconstruction work on the Ibadan–Ile Ife–Ilesa Expressway. He described the project as a critical transport corridor that links major cities in the South-West and plays a key role in boosting trade, travel efficiency, and regional integration.

Adeleke noted that the federal government’s investment in road rehabilitation and other infrastructure initiatives has begun to yield visible results, especially in improving connectivity and easing movement for residents and businesses across the region. He added that such developments are essential for accelerating economic growth and attracting further investment into Osun State and its surrounding areas.

He further emphasized the importance of cooperation between state and federal authorities, stating that development can only be maximized when political leaders work together regardless of party differences. According to him, acknowledging progress where it exists is part of responsible leadership.

The governor also highlighted that Osun State continues to benefit from federal attention in key sectors, particularly infrastructure, which he said has a direct impact on the livelihoods of citizens and the broader economic outlook of the state.

Reaffirming his stance, Adeleke pointed to historical and geographical connections between Osun State and the President’s origins as part of his reasoning for openly backing Tinubu’s re-election ambition.

He stated, “I am the governor from the ancestral home of Mr. President. How can I hold a position and hesitate to support him?”
