BREAKING: 8 Muslim Nations Explode in Rage Over Israelis Temple Mount Visit, Say It’s A Dangerous Escalation

According to a report by The Times of Israel on July 23, 2026, eight Muslim countries including some close allies and some that do not recognize Israel have issued a joint statement condemning visits by Israelis to the Temple Mount today and calling it an illegal escalation.

The United Arab Emirates Turkey Egypt Jordan Indonesia Pakistan Saudi Arabia and Qatar condemn in the strongest terms the continuation of mass incursions by settlers led by extremist Israeli ministers to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque or Al-Haram Al-Sharif under the protection of Israeli police forces.

They highlight raising the Israeli flag inside its courtyards erecting two Israeli police tents and other provocative acts as deeply troubling developments.

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir was among those visiting the site to mark Tisha B’Av the Jewish day of mourning for the two temples that once stood there.

The countries describe the visit as a flagrant violation of international law relevant United Nations resolutions and the historical and legal status quo in the holy places in occupied East Jerusalem.

They emphasize that no written or formal status quo agreement exists for the Temple Mount yet Israel since 1967 has maintained an understanding with the Jordan-backed Waqf that Jews could visit the site but would refrain from organized prayer.
