BECE Candidate With Aggregate 9 Cries Bitterly In Camera, Appeals For Help After Missing Out On Prempeh College Placement

A young Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate has broken down in tears while appealing for help to gain admission to Prempeh College after achieving an impressive aggregate 9 in the examination.

According to the student, although he performed well and hoped to attend the prestigious Kumasi-based school, he was instead placed at another school without a boarding facility.

The candidate explained that the lack of a boarding arrangement could create challenges for him, as commuting daily may affect his ability to attend classes regularly and concentrate on his studies.

In an emotional appeal, he called on the authorities and individuals who can assist to help him secure a placement at Prempeh College, which was reportedly among his preferred choices.

His situation has attracted attention as some parents and students continue to raise concerns over challenges faced during the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) process.

Many have called for a review of cases involving students with strong academic performances who are unable to access their preferred schools due to placement challenges.
