Bauchi Police Arrest Five Suspects Over Homicide and Armed Robbery Cases

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested five suspects in separate operations linked to alleged culpable homicide and arm3d r0bbery cases in Bauchi and Ningi Local Government Areas of the state.

Three suspects were apprehended in connection with the k!lling of a resident of Miri Village in Bauchi LGA, while two others were arrested over an arm3d r0bbery att@ck on a commercial motorcyclist in Ningi.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesman, SP Nafiu Habib, the three suspects held over the alleged homicide were identified as Rabiyu Sanda, 16, Muhammad Abubakar, 21, and Suleiman Nura, 21, all residents of Miri Village.

The police said operatives attached to the ‘B’ Division, GRA, arrested the suspects on June 13, 2026, following an investigation into an incident that occurred two days earlier.

Preliminary investigations, according to the statement, revealed that the suspects allegedly conspired to carry out the act following a misunderstanding with the deceased.

The police added that the suspects voluntarily confessed during interrogation and provided information that aided the investigation.

The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, ahead of an expected court arraignment.

In a separate development, detectives attached to the Ningi Division arrested two suspects over an alleged arm3d r0bbery att@ck on a 22-year-old commercial motorcyclist.

The victim’s father had reported to police on June 14 that his son was att@cked in Ningi town on the night of June 13 by assailants who attempted to steal his motorcycle.

Investigations led to the arrest of Adamu Abdullahi of Zazika Village in Ningi LGA and Aminu Shuaibu of Dutsen Danga Village in Birnin Kudu LGA, Jigawa State.

According to the Command, the suspects allegedly att@cked the victim with a hammer, inflicting injuries to his face before making off with his motorcycle.

Police said operatives acted swiftly, recovering the stolen motorcycle and apprehending the suspects. This case has also been transferred to the SCID for further investigation and prosecution.

Reacting to the arrests, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed investigators to handle the cases diligently and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

He further urged residents to avoid violent confrontations, remain vigilant, and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
