Basic School Headmaster Creates Chaos On Campus As He Refuses To Leave Office Despite Going On Pension

The headmaster of Asanco Model Basic School, Isaac Enimil, has reportedly refused to leave his post following an official transfer, insisting on staying in office and declining to hand over duties to the person appointed to replace him.

According to accounts of the standoff, the situation escalated as it became clear Enimil had no intention of stepping aside despite the transfer directive. What began as an administrative disagreement soon drew a crowd, with community members, parents, and others gathering at the school to witness the unfolding dispute.

Tensions reportedly rose to the point where education officials found it necessary to call in the police to help manage the situation and restore order.

Images from the scene show a large gathering of people, including officials, standing around discussing the matter as the standoff played out in full view of onlookers.

Disputes over school transfers, particularly involving headteachers reluctant to relinquish their positions, are not uncommon within Ghana’s education sector, often rooted in disagreements over the fairness or timing of a transfer decision, personal ties to a school community, or unresolved administrative grievances.
