Ayra Starr unveils release date for star-studded ‘STARRGIRL’

Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has announced that her highly anticipated third studio album, “STARRGIRL,” will be released on August 14, 2026, setting the stage for what is expected to be one of the year’s biggest music releases.

The award-winning singer unveiled the release date on Monday through her verified X (formerly Twitter) account, where she shared a teaser video accompanied by the caption: “starrgirl is comingggg. are you ready?” The post also included a pre-save link confirming the album’s official release date.

The announcement comes weeks after the Mavin Records star hinted that a new project was on the way, sparking excitement among fans across social media.

According to details released by the singer, “STARRGIRL” will feature 16 tracks, including collaborations with two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars—Wizkid on “Gimme Dat” and Rema on “Who’s Dat Girl.”

The album marks another milestone in Ayra Starr’s rapidly rising career, following her critically acclaimed debut album, “19 & Dangerous,” released in 2021, and her sophomore album, “The Year I Turned 21,” which debuted in 2024.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, since joining Mavin Records in 2021, Ayra Starr has established herself as one of Africa’s leading music exports. She first captured attention with her self-titled debut EP before achieving global success with the smash hit “Rush,” a song that propelled her onto the international stage and earned widespread acclaim.

With “STARRGIRL,” the singer is expected to continue her artistic evolution while strengthening her position as one of the leading voices in contemporary Afrobeats.

The announcement has already generated widespread excitement online, with fans eagerly counting down to the album’s release on August 14.
