Another Fake Soldier Claiming To Be Captain Busted; See What They Did To Him

Military personnel in the Karaga District of the Northern Region have arrested a man accused of impersonating a Ghana Armed Forces officer, after he was found posing as “Captain Mohammed Abdul-Kahad.”

Photos from the scene show the suspect dressed in full military fatigues, complete with a tactical vest bearing what appears to be Ghana’s flag colours, as he sat in custody following his apprehension.

According to reports, personnel provided him with food before proceeding with a rigorous interrogation to establish his true identity and motives.

The arrest has added to the growing list of similar cases across Ghana in recent years, where individuals have been caught wearing military uniforms and adopting false ranks to defraud people with bogus recruitment promises, gain unauthorised access to secure locations, or exploit the authority the uniform commands in public.

Ghanaian law criminalises impersonation of military and security personnel, with the Ghana Armed Forces regularly reiterating the seriousness of such offences whenever suspects are apprehended.

Further details on the suspect’s real identity, his intentions, and any charges he may eventually face have not yet been released.
