Angel Reese Unveils Two Striking New Colors Of Reebok Shoe Ahead Of WNBA Playoffs
Angel Reese and Reebok are continuing to put out heat, and today, the shoewear company announced the release date for two new colorways of the baller’s signature shoe—Aqua and Metal Green. The new colors are the latest editions to the AR1 lineup, which first launched in September 2025 with the Diamond Dust, Mebounds, and Receipts Ready colorways. Now, the next set of the LSU alum’s signature Reebok shoe comes just ahead of her first WNBA playoff appearance with the Atlanta Dream.
Reebok and Reese are back at it again, teaming up to release the next two editions of the AR1—Aqua and Metal Green. The striking new colors will be released on August 31, 2026, on Reebok.com and at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
“I’m excited to launch two bold new colorways of the Angel Reese 1—’Metal Green’ and ‘Aqua,’” Reese said in a statement sent to The Blast. “My style has always been about versatility, having fun and wearing what makes me feel confident, and I bring that same mindset to every new design. Tapping into this season’s top fashion trends, ‘Metal Green’ and ‘Aqua’ reimagine the Angel Reese 1 in this fall’s defining colors and give people two distinct ways to make a statement.”
Angel Reese Released A Barbie-Themed Sneaker During WNBA All-Star Weekend
5The two new colorways come amid a recent streak of AR1 releases, featuring the Expressive Pink and the pink-and-white pair designed to celebrate the release of her Barbie.
According to The Blast, Reese became the first Black woman in the WNBA to receive a signature Barbie. Designed to resemble her, the doll also came with a matching pair of “Barbie” AR1s.
Seeing the collectible paired with a pair of Reebok shoes was a major moment for the Boston-based company, CEO Todd Krinsky said. “We’re proud to see her Barbie doll debut wearing Angel Reese 1 basketball shoes in this vibrant new Barbie colorway and to bring that same style directly to fans,” he said in a statement. “This moment celebrates Angel’s impact on sport, style, and culture while giving fans the chance to match Angel’s iconic look and be part of the moment.”
The AR1 Feaures One-Of-A-Kind Technology
5Like the other AR1s, the Aqua, Metal Green, and Barbie colorways feature one-of-a-kind technology, designed for the most versatile players.
In addition to the exoskeleton upper, the AR1s feature TPU stability, offering traction and grip, plus Reebok’s Energy Return System (ERS).
Angel Reese Was Grateful To Be Just The Second WNBA Player To Get Her Own Barbie
5Reese previously described getting her own Barbie as a “full-circle moment,” reflecting on the significance of seeing herself represented in a doll she grew up with.
“Barbie is an iconic brand, and to be part of that legacy is something I’m really proud of. It’s bigger than basketball for me. It’s about inspiring young girls to dream big, be confident, and know they can be exactly who they are,” she said.
And for Reese, what she loves most about her Signature Barbie is that it “truly feels like me.”
She added: “My doll reflects both my love of basketball and fashion because I’ve always believed you never have to choose between being fierce on the court and expressing who you are off it. Seeing every little detail come together made this incredibly personal, and it was one of those moments where everything I’ve worked so hard for really hit me.”
Reese Is Headed To The Playoffs
5Reese is headed to the first playoffs of her WNBA career with new sneakers. According to The Blast, the Atlanta Dream clinched a playoff berth on August 22 after their win over the Phoenix Mercury. During the game, Reese scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. The Dream have six games left in the season, with their next contest being against the Portland Fire tomorrow at 7:30 PM EST.
