ADC fixes April 14 for national convention

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fixed April 14 for its national convention as part of plans to restructure and renew its leadership across the country.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday by Bolaji Abdullahi, its spokesperson who said the exercise would follow a series of congresses scheduled to take place at different levels of the party structure.

According to him, the process will commence with polling unit and ward congresses on April 7, followed by local government area congresses on April 9.

He added that state congresses are slated for April 11, while the national convention will hold on April 14.

Abdullahi explained that the exercise is in line with the party’s constitutional requirement to periodically renew its leadership from the grassroots to the national level.

He noted that the congresses and convention are also aimed at strengthening internal democracy within the party as it prepares for future political contests.

The party recently launched a free online membership registration platform nationwide as part of efforts to expand its membership base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
