Actress Temitope Osoba to be buried on Thursday

The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has announced that her burial will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.

The announcement was contained in an obituary released on the actress’ official Instagram page on Monday.

According to the family, Osoba’s remains will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH), Sagamu, at 9am, while the burial service is scheduled to hold between 10am and 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.

The interment will take place immediately after the service at the Iperu Remo Cemetery, with the family stating that the dress code for the ceremony is white.

Osoba, popularly known as Tope Osoba, died in August 2026 at the age of 40 after spending nearly two decades in the Nigerian film industry.

The Yoruba actress and producer featured in several Nollywood productions, including Oogun Mi, and was known for her contributions to Yoruba-language cinema.

Her death came months after she publicly shared her battle with breast cancer and her recovery journey. In August 2025, she announced her return to acting, describing the period as one of healing and personal transformation.

However, her final days generated controversy following conflicting accounts from her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, and members of her family regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.

Onadeko had alleged that Osoba died after being taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, while her relatives presented a different account of events leading to her death.

The conflicting claims prompted calls from some industry figures, including actor Yomi Fabiyi, for an investigation and autopsy to clarify the circumstances surrounding her passing.

The family had earlier postponed her burial, which was initially scheduled for August 13, before announcing the new date.

They also warned against the spread of unverified information about the actress’ death, urging the public to rely on official statements from the family.
