Veteran Yoruba actor Raymmy Shittabey has opened up about his troubled relationship with fellow actor and filmmaker Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello.
Shittabey revealed that although the two have been at odds for years, he still loves and respects Oga Bello, whom he has always regarded as a father figure.
Speaking during an interview with Agbaletu TV, the actor said the disagreement began because Oga Bello believes he offended him, even though he insists he never intentionally did anything wrong.
According to Shittabey, he has apologised several times in an effort to mend their relationship, but Oga Bello has yet to forgive him.
He explained that the unresolved rift has affected both their relationship and his career, claiming he missed out on several opportunities because of Oga Bello’s influence in the Yoruba movie industry.
Shittabey also reflected on the close bond they once shared. He recalled visiting Oga Bello’s home in Ebute Meta during his early days in the industry, where the veteran actor regularly welcomed him and others with food and financial support whenever they were struggling.
Despite the strained relationship, Shittabey said he still holds Oga Bello in high regard and would gladly honour any invitation from him because of the fatherly role he played in his life.
However, he did not disclose what Oga Bello believes caused the misunderstanding between them.
