Actor Jared Leto faces new s3xual misconduct allegations from four women

Jared Leto is facing serious new allegations from multiple women who say the Oscar-winning actor sexually assaulted them or threatened to s3xually ass@ult them when they were teenagers, according to a new BBC documentary.

The documentary, titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” features interviews with 10 women, nine of whom are sharing their accounts publicly for the first time. Four of them describe incidents involving criminal s3xual conduct. One woman accuses Leto of assaulting her in a motel bathroom when she was 17. A second woman, identified as Alex, says Leto threatened her with s3xual assault after she found herself alone with him in a dark hotel room following a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert in London in 2013, telling her she’d wake up “with a dick in her ass.”

A third woman says she had a s3xual encounter with Leto in California in 2006, when she was 17, under the state’s age of consent. She told the documentary’s director that she’d mentioned to Leto that her father worked in law enforcement and that she knew the age of consent in California was 18, but that he just kind of shrugged it off like it wasn’t a huge concern for him. Leto allegedly told another woman, “Age is just a number, and anyway, we’re in Europe,” after she told him she was 17.

A fourth woman, identified as Etta, says she began receiving s3xually explicit phone calls from Leto when she was 16, after meeting him through a Los Angeles modeling agency in 2014. She says she was later asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which she refused to sign but shared with the BBC.

Two men who previously worked with Leto’s band Thirty Seconds to Mars also spoke to the documentary, claiming staff felt uncomfortable with how Leto interacted with teenage girls, alleging he would sometimes invite them backstage or to the house where he was recording. “I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big,” one of them said.

The BBC says it corroborated parts of the women’s accounts through contemporaneous messages, photographs, and interviews with friends and relatives. Multiple outlets say they’ve reached out to Leto’s representatives for comment but had not heard back as of publication.

This isn’t the first time Leto has faced such allegations last year, the newsletter Air Mail reported on nine separate s3xual misconduct accusations against him, which his representatives denied at the time, calling the claims “demonstrably false.”
