ACF NEC Chairman Raises Alarm Over Access to Kaduna Headquarters Amid Leadership Dispute

The National Executive Council (NEC) Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Mamman Mike Osuma, SAN, has expressed concern over what he described as restricted access to the Forum’s national secretariat along Sokoto Road, Kaduna.

In a statement signed by him and released to journalists on Wednesday morning, Osuma said the NEC remains a principal organ established under the ACF Constitution and has the authority to convene meetings of both the National Executive Council and the National Working Committee (NWC).He cited Section 13(1)(a) and (b) of the ACF Constitution, which he said empowers the Chairman to summon and preside over meetings of the NEC and NWC.

According to him, a notice he issued convening an NWC meeting was countered by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Bashir Dalhatu, a move he described as an “unconstitutional interference.” Osuma said he subsequently directed members to disregard the counter-instruction and attend the scheduled meeting.

He added that the meeting went ahead on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with what he described as “overwhelming participation” from members.The development comes amid reported internal disagreements within the Forum’s leadership structure, including claims of suspension decisions involving the Board of Trustees following a separate NEC meeting held outside the headquarters. The situation has further highlighted ongoing tensions within the ACF leadership.
