A man booking an entire restaurant for a romantic date should be considered the norm, not a big deal — Media personality Caramel sparks reactions with a bold take
Influencer Caramel Plugg has shared her thoughts on the romantic gestures she expects from a partner.
She spoke during a recent episode of Drink or Spill, where the interviewer presented different dating scenarios and asked how she would react.
In one scenario, the interviewer asked how she would feel if her partner regularly upgraded her flights to business or first class without telling her.
Caramel explained that she already buys business-class tickets for herself. Because of this, she might consider the gesture a basic expectation rather than something extraordinary.
The interviewer then asked about a partner booking an entire restaurant for her birthday so she could celebrate privately with family and friends.
Caramel responded, “He books out the entire restaurant?”
She said her reaction would depend on the restaurant involved. She jokingly questioned how she should feel if the man booked a simple local food spot.
Caramel later admitted that reserving an entire restaurant can still be a special gesture.
“I think it’s a special thing to do,” she said.
However, she added that such an experience may also feel normal to someone who already enjoys an expensive lifestyle.
Her comments sparked mixed reactions online. Some people accused her of expecting too much from men.
Others defended her, arguing that people naturally set relationship standards based on what they can already provide for themselves.
