A cheating spouse should be forgiven if they are remorseful and show that they have changed – Actress Omotola Jolade Ekeinde
Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has weighed in on the delicate topic of marital infidelity, asserting that forgiveness is possible if the offender shows genuine remorse.
Speaking in aninterview with Broadway TV, the mother of four explained that a first-time mistake should not automatically signal the end of a marriage. According to Omotola, a cheating spouse can be given a second chance, provided there is visible evidence of behavioral change.
“If someone cheats once, should they be forgiven? I would say yes, if they are genuinely remorseful and show that they have changed,” she stated.
However, the actress drew a clear line when it comes to habitual infidelity, advising couples to assess their long-term well-being.
In her words
‘’Someone who cheats once, should they forgive that kind of person? I would say yes if they are remorseful and show signs of change.
Should someone forgive a repeatedly cheating spouse? Why are they cheating? I think the problem these days is that we are very impatient. Yes, the scene is very bad but then, sometimes you need to access the situation.
One, who is this person really? Is that the only problem? Is this person perfect but just a cheat? Now you have to weigh options”
