20 Ogun lawmakers back Adeola’s 2027 governorship bid
Twenty members of the Ogun State House of Assembly have declared support for the 2027 governorship ambition of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
Senator Adeola is currently representing Ogun west senatorial district in the national assembly in Abuja on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The Ogun assembly members, on Wednesday, announced their decision to back Senator Adeola for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Yusuf Abiodun, the assembly’s majority leader who addressed newsmen flanked by his colleagues at the Iwe-Iroyin secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Abeokuta, explained that they took the decision to support Senator Adeola for the governorship of Ogun state in 2027 because of his experience and contribution to the state and the nation.
“I am also using this opportunity to declare our unalloyed support for the gubernatorial bid of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola,” he declared.
The Ogun assembly members had earlier endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
The Ogun lawmakers have swelled the rank of state governors and other political heavyweights who have thrown their weight behind President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
