15 suspects arrested in Lagos for reselling used disposable plastics, plates collected from bins to food vendors (video)

Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps have arrested over 15 suspected environmental offenders around the Jibowu railway corridor in Lagos State.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 said investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly collect used disposable plastics and plates from refuse bins and resell them to food vendors in the area.

“Earlier today, operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) apprehended over 15 suspected environmental offenders around the Jibowu railway corridor for allegedly collecting and reselling used disposable plastics and plates recovered from refuse bins to food vendors,” the statement read.
